Custom Attributes
A custom attribute is a custom field that can be associated with contacts and allows for easier filtering of those contacts. They also allow for easy creation of contact lists.
Accessing Custom Attributes
Custom attributes may be accessed by navigating to the Contacts page and selecting New next to Custom Attributes Filters.

The following page will display custom attributes, an Actions button to View or Delete current custom attributes, and the New Custom Attribute button.

Creating a New Custom Attribute
1.Select New Custom Attribute in your custom attribute index.
2. Name your new attribute.
3. Select the type of attribute that you would like to create.
Custom Attributes may be created as two different types of fields:
- Text field
- Yes/No select

4. The Custom identifier is optional and one will be generated for you if not specified.
- This identifier will be what is used in the API as well as the column header in your import/export files.
- These are displayed within your custom attributes index as well.
5. Select Create custom attribute to create your attribute.
Using Your Custom Attributes
Your custom attribute fields will now appear within your contact records for you to use.

After these custom attributes have been created, they can easily be updated or applied to additional contacts in bulk via a csv contact import and the custom attribute identifier will now display within the csv export of your contacts.
After you've applied your custom attributes, you may now use those custom attributes as a filter for your contacts!
